The constellation behind this stele
Lyra — The Lyre
A small summer-sky constellation, visible May through October high in the northern sky. Its principal star Vega is the fifth-brightest in the night sky and lies just 25 light-years away — together with Deneb and Altair it forms the Summer Triangle, one of the most recognisable patterns of the warm season.
Lyra contains the Ring Nebula (M57), a planetary nebula — the shed outer shell of a dying star.
