As a garden designer and town planner, it has always mattered to me to give gardens and public spaces a distinctive character. That can be a particular spatial arrangement, a special material, a special colour, or an eye-catcher such as a striking shrub, vases, water features, or indeed sculptures. Out of my garden clients' wish for a modern, creative accessory to bring something special to their garden, I began developing the Eichenstelen in 2010 alongside my main work. Since then, many people around the world have grown fond of them. Today my steles stand all across Europe, and my light-catchers can also be found in the USA, Canada and Australia. I see every stele sold as a compliment to my work and to my idea of bringing more colour into our lives.
